Obama, Hillary or (pfft) McCain? Old Tue Jun 3, 2008 6:43:07 PM #57254 Perm Link
I'd like to see if anyone cares about their future and has something intelligent to say about some of our potential presidential candidates. Don't post stupid shit like "Hillary is a woman so she roxx!!!1one!!11" or "Obama is a muzlim n3gro lolololol", back your shit up with some facts. I'll share my two cents at a later point in time. Remember, if you can't vote, your opinion doesn't fucking matter.

Exactly why I am voicing my opinion now, you guys fuck up my life by being paranoid idiots with an IQ below 50 and I'll fuck you all up, for the most part, the people who vote don't have to worry about the damage they have already cause, no no, that all falls onto US, the teenagers of now...

I am going for Obama... Hillary just sort of seems... Oh, how to put it? Ditzy I suppose? Nah... I can't think of the word... Anyways! Obama is a fairly intelligent person, and while he won't be able to FIX everything that that dipshit Bush caused, he will be able to keep it from getting any WORSE (Hopefully), Hillary has a few things that make her great too, but I just feel we need someone like Obama before someone like Hillary. and um... McCain... ummm... *Cough**Cough* I won't even touch on him...

Wow, dipshit, I asked for intelligent comments. Don't just say who you're voting for, say why you're voting for them. Try to use more complex words than "things". Could you even touch on McCain? What do you know about him? I'm not being an asshole but it's important that you know what you're talking about.

Hillary doesn't matter at this point. The democratic nominee is officially Obama. I can't wait to see how everything goes from this point on. Mccain keeps having to watch out for those crazy republicanz who keep undermining his candidacy by running stupid shitty "campaigns". Obama needs to start talking. It seems like he always tries to evade the questions with his "charming smile" or whatever. I support Obama but I think that's his major problem right now.

I read a few articles in the NewsPaper, I am not totally naiive on the matter, Obama wants us to get out of the war ASAP and he knows how to get us out, he also has other plans that seem agreeable, McCain, well, he is using selective speaking, someone could CHOOSE to here it as: I am going to get us out of there in a little bit, but if we come out now they'll bomb the hell outta us. OR, it could be intrepeted as Eh, fuck it, I'll take us out wheneer the hell I feel like it...
I'll explain why later, besides, remember this: Remember, if you cannot vote, your opinion doesn't fucking matter
You gotta point there, which is exactly why I am not voicing my opinion very loudly, because it doesn't matter, people love fucking up their next generation's lives, it is part of the sick thing we call Human Nature, Technically, all humans should spend an eternity in Hell, it's just how we are

The problem with elections is the slandering that each one does to one another and the Selective Speaking, which, with the rather low intelligence levels of the U.S., prove to due a good number on the Nation's judgement

Too many Democrats here I see.

Obama will be the candidate and I will not be voting for him. Obama has proven himself to be so liberal that he wants the country to turn into socialism. His comments about how America can't keep their homes at a temperature of 72 degrees should be proof enough at how much he doesn't care about the country. He's got nothing on border control and support raising taxes and bigger government.

I'm not saying I like McCain (I'd vote for Romney in a heartbeat if he was the guy), but at least you know he knows what he is doing. He is more conservative than Bush ever was. He wants to secure the borders, have less government (ALWAYS A GOOD THING!), and has better fiscal plans than Obama.

This vote will have a huge blow to the Democratic party since they should have went with Hillary over Obama. Obama can't win, period.

I concur. I almost want Obama to win so he can make a total fool of himself for the first 6th months, then proceed to do nothing for the rest of his (only) term. His Iraq policies are also bullshit, and easily the worst of the three major candidates.

To be fair, Hilary had even less of a chance of winning simply because she is Hilary. She was far better on her issues, but so many people hate her that I doubt she could have won.

In a perfect world, yes. Statistically? No. Simply stated, as stupid and left wing as some of his ideas are; Obama has two things going for him in that he is easily a more likable person (Hilary is viewed upon as, and quite frankly is, a controlling, ruthless person. I don't find that to be a problem, but many do), and that Hilary is thought of by the far right to be pretty much Stalin despite her moderacy on many issues.
I personally think she would have been the best of the major candidates for the job, but I had little thoughts of her actually winning the presidency (had she won the DNC or not).

Now, we have a rather major election coming up, and potentially the closest one ever. We have McCain, representing the right (but more of the middle); who is facing a generally disliked president leaving office who is of the same party and a stylistically similar foreign policy that made the president so disliked in the first place, not to mention a very likable showman with very little actual substance in the same vein as the Kennedy family. Not to mention the character assassination that those within the Republican party are leveling at McCain for not being very "Republican" at all.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have a Democratic party split right down the middle mostly by people who probably would never vote for the other Democratic candidate. Obama also faces the fact that many critics are starting to call him out on his policies, and that now that Hilary is gone many of the votes from Republicans will begin to leave him towards either McCain or a third party.

We essentially have two very divided parties for two completely different reasons, all of which will probably end up with a very close election. I think the main factor of this election will be the ignorant people who will vote Democrat simply because they equate all Republicans with George Bush or actually buy Obama's "Hope for Change" bullshit; or those that vote Republican simply because Hilary didn't win the DNC.

Honestly, the odds are against McCain (slightly), and while Obama being elected would have next to no effect on anything (Congress is just barely Democrat run, and even then it isn't really liberal); it wouldn't be good for America as a whole to essentially sit on their collective asses while Obama gets nothing done because Congress won't buy any of his rose tinted speeches.

Also important will be the economic outlook come November, which is too far away to determine. For all we know, the housing market could repair itself by then, which would fix the dollars value and lower gas prices. And who knows what would happen then?

How does that even make sense ? What does "liberal" mean to you, if not in favour of a free market ?

Quote

He's got nothing on border control ...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think it's ridiculous for a "nation" of immigrants to want to control immigration. I don't like the idea of tight border control anywhere, but in the case of the US, I think it's darn right lunacy: People went there and more or less obliterated the native peoples, and a few hundred years later, they decide to prevent people from coming as they (or their ancestors) came.

Anyway: I'd say that if you want less government, wanting more border control isn't exactly consequent.

ExShinobi, the revolution was to get rid of the absolutistical policies of the king, and for independence from London. In Europe, we have long done away with absolutism, in case you haven't notices.

Sorry free::zombie, you don't live in the USA so you just don't understand what liberal and conservative mean for the US citizens.

I can't believe I have to explain what liberal means.

Liberal in America: Favors bigger federal government. Favors higher taxes. Favors more social programs. Favors MORE government control of businesses. Favors political correctness. Favors affirmative action. Favors taking away rights presented in the Bill of Rights (IE: stripping the second amendment). Favors legislating from the bench.

Conservative in America. Favors smaller federal government (States rights). Favors more tax cuts. Favors less social programs. Favors MORE free market (maybe too much). Favors freedom of hiring practices. Favors protecting freedoms. Favors strict interpretation of the Constitution.

Don't say that border control is lunacy. People like you confuse and mangle the issue. Border control means that you have tight borders so no ILLEGAL immigrants get in and only legal immigrants that have went through the proper channels get in. So no, your idea of no border control is ludicrous and harmful to society.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

Unfortnately Free::Zombie many people make that argument that America is a nation of immigrants but as you said they obilterated native peoples, I don't think it would be a smart idea to let history repeat itself. This time if hypothetically America leaves its borders as a freel for all imagine what would happen to the economy. Think of the people who will refuse to pay taxes and the millions more mouths to feed with the decline of the already unstable economy. No nation that cares about it's people would favor another over it's own. Sounds selfish but that's what happens. Now is not the time to make mistakes of that nature, nor is it time to try to make up for those ancient wrongs. I may be wrong about all this but i just think two wrongs don't make a right.I'm just sayin
I am naive about this but are the defintions of conservative and liberal in America personal opinion or fact. I was of the opinion that it was the other way around.

*EDIT* o·blit·er·ate (-blt-rt, -blt-)
tr.v. o·blit·er·at·ed, o·blit·er·at·ing, o·blit·er·ates
1. To do away with completely so as to leave no trace. See Synonyms at abolish.
2. To wipe out, rub off, or erase (writing or other markings).
3. Medicine To remove completely (a body organ or part), as by surgery, disease, or radiation.

Woah woah woah, obliterated, we aren't gone, we are just mixed in and scattered and our blood is no longer of Pure American descent, I am somewhere inbetween a 16th and a 32nd Native American from my Father's side(My either great great Grandma was Pure Native American or my Great Great GREAT grandmother, probably the ladder),
Not being hostile, just in case you may think I am, just pointing out that technically we aren't obliterated ;P

Also Garra, please don't bring in religious text into a talk about Politics

even if it stated a woman would lead the country and that would be the apocalypse, ur theory is still full of holes:

First and foremost: Great countries come and fall, America'smoney value is already HALF of the English money value, so it could be another 'great' nation, 30 years, 200 years, 1000 years from now!
Second: What Aron said
Third: Who said that it isn't the FIFTH woman to rule the most powerful nation? Maybe the HUNDRETH woman will cause the Apocalypse, does it HAVE to be the first? Sounds pretty Sexist to me

quite frankly, I doubt anyone can really pull us out of the hole Bush dug for us, I honestly just hope whoever DOES get elected doesn't scew it up and dig a BIGGER hole... Honestly, I prefer Obama(As I said in my previous post), but, hopefully whoever will do BEST will be elected...

Liberal in America: Favors bigger federal government. Favors higher taxes. Favors more social programs. Favors MORE government control of businesses. Favors political correctness. Favors affirmative action. Favors taking away rights presented in the Bill of Rights (IE: stripping the second amendment). Favors legislating from the bench.

Conservative in America. Favors smaller federal government (States rights). Favors more tax cuts. Favors less social programs. Favors MORE free market (maybe too much). Favors freedom of hiring practices. Favors protecting freedoms. Favors strict interpretation of the Constitution.

I agree with parts of each... but Liberal has things I hate and Conservative too... so ummm... wtf would I be classified as X_X
