Hiyayaka: you don't *need* to fit into political groups ;-)

now, Aaron, I knew that conservatives want different things depending on where they are. That's the point, as the roots conservatives focus on are different everywhere. Now "liberal", however, seams to you to be just the opposite of conservative. I'd say "liberal" is, from the origin of the word and all use I tend to be confronted with, in favour of maximal individual freedom and rights. (LIBERals being against LIBERty is historical and linguistical nonsense) But, who cares about terminology, eh ?
You argue that illegal immigrants have to be kept out. Fair enough, and I never thought that you'd want to stop me coming (in fact, I'm coming over in August...). The thing is, I don't like the idea of migration being illegal. I can see where the desire to lock everyone out comes from, I just don't like borders.

As to my opinion, I quite like a limited degree of socialism, as long as it doesn't collapse into totalitarian dictatorship or something like that. Also, I'm not too fond of wars. I've already said that, after my limited look around, Mike Gravel would be my candidate of choice, but Obama is more likely to get the job, by far. Also, he's black, which shouldn't matter at all, but it seams to do to a lot of Americans (and the press in all the world, duh), so that'd prove to be an interesting twist.

Now its down to the Muslim, and the old hag. OBAMA IS A LONG-LEGGED MACK DADDY. And technically he won't be the first "black" president, being that hes not black.

Well.
I would prefer a Democratic Communist Nation.
Everyone gets The essentials. but they have to buy better things, and as long there is no Supreme ruler, (Like stalin Or Castro Etc...) It would work good.
But this would need to be perfected more.

We are all fools if we think that ANY Presidential Candidate this year or any in the future will make a difference.

No one has made a difference since Ronald Reagan. It's always a President that has to clean up the previous incumbents mess that we get. Not to mention, we really have no choice(one word, DELEGATES).

In the end it's a vote for the lesser of two evils.

No one has made a difference since Ronald Reagan.

And all he did was fuck things up that Nixon had fixed.

From CNN.com:

Quote

McCain does oppose drilling in some parts of the wilderness and says those areas must be left undisturbed.
"When America set aside the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, we called it a 'refuge' for a reason," he will say.
McCain on Tuesday will also criticize the energy policy of rival Barack Obama.
"He says that high oil prices are not the problem, but only that they rose too quickly. He's doesn't support new domestic production. He doesn't support new nuclear plants. He doesn't support more traditional use of coal, either," McCain will say.
"So what does Sen. Obama support in energy policy? Well, for starters he supported the energy bill of 2005 -- a grab bag of corporate favors that I opposed. And now he supports new taxes on energy producers. He wants a windfall profits tax on oil, to go along with the new taxes he also plans for coal and natural gas. If the plan sounds familiar, it's because that was President Jimmy Carter's big idea too -- and a lot of good it did us," he will say.
McCain will argue that a windfall profits tax will only increase the country's dependence on foreign oil and be an obstacle to domestic exploration.
"I'm all for recycling -- but it's better applied to paper and plastic than to the failed policies of the 1970s," he will say.

Obama on Tuesday blasted McCain for changing his stance on offshore drilling.
"John McCain's support of the moratorium on offshore drilling during his first presidential campaign was certainly laudable, but his decision to completely change his position and tell a group of Houston oil executives exactly what they wanted to hear today was the same Washington politics that has prevented us from achieving energy independence for decades," he said in a statement.
"It's another example of short-term political posturing from Washington, not the long-term leadership we need to solve our dependence on oil," he said.
Obama says a windfall profits tax would ease the burden of energy costs on working families. He also wants to invest in affordable, renewable energy sources.
Controversy over offshore drilling first surfaced in the United States in 1969, after a crack in the sea floor led to a huge oil spill off Santa Barbara, California.
During the 1970s, when many Arab nations launched an oil embargo, many U.S. officials pushed for the exploration of offshore drilling of the coastal U.S. Environmentalists responded by turning up the volume on their cries against offshore drilling.

Lol Jimmy Carter part 2.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
