VoSKY's Exchange Gateway Helps Global Engineering Consultant Significantly Cut International Calling Costs

VoSKY's PBX-to-Skype gateway delivers quick ROI, enables reporting on phone usage and improves international business collaboration for Vector

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 9 -- Leading global engineering and environmental consultant Vector Engineering, has deployed VoSKY's PBX-to-Skype gateway to dramatically reduce its international calling costs, enable reporting on company phone usage and enhance intra-office communications.

With worldwide office locations in South America and Australia, Vector Engineering installed a VoSKY Exchange 9080 gateway to its ESI PBX at its office in Grass Valley, California, enabling employees to make high-quality free Internet-based Skype calls between their offices in different cities and different countries.

Employees make the calls using their conventional desktop PBX handsets, and the gateways automatically route calls over Skype according to Vector's numbering plan. Employees are also able to make calls to non-Skype customers and colleagues for a fraction of the price of traditional calls using SkypeOUT.

In addition the gateways enable the company's remote and mobile workers to make low-cost inbound office calls from any location via Skype, with the Skype call routed over the VoSKY gateway to the company's PBX. Skype trunking has delivered further cost savings to Vector as the company now no longer needs to rent private intra-office lines.

Frank Magni, corporate IT manager for Vector Engineering, said: "With offices spread across the globe our international phone bills were costly. We needed a solution which would help cut the cost significantly as well as deliver greater reporting functionality.

"VoSKY's Exchange has helped us to save a ton of money and the team have been especially helpful in configuring our accounts to help us make further savings. Furthermore, the gateway has in-fact paid for itself in less than five months - delivering a fantastic ROI, I think the product is great!"

David Tang, Global VP of Marketing for VoSKY, said: "VoSKY offers enterprises an easy and cost-effective way to integrate Skype into their communications network. The gateways not only deliver considerable cost savings to companies in a managed way, but also enable them to benefit from advanced functionalities, enhancing day-to-day business communications.

"Our VoSKY Exchange gateway has enabled Vector to benefit from significant cost savings of Skype. By using the gateways businesses typically can realise savings of up to 90% over traditional telephony, freeing up funds which can be re-directed into other areas of the business."

Vector plans to make further savings by deploying a VoSKY Exchange Pro VIS8 at its Golden Colorado office early next year.

VoSKY's gateways Skype-enable a company's existing phone system to allow businesses to take advantage of Internet Telephony without replacing their existing network infrastructure. The scalable, enterprise-grade gateways fully integrate Skype with the company system, so employees can make and receive Skype calls from their regular office phone -- no Skype software, computers, or headsets are required, making them easy for telecoms and IT managers to configure and manage.
